:: TENTANG KAMI - PERSATUAN IBU-BAPA KANAK-KANAK ISTIMEWA ::
PIBAKIS is a non-profit organization registered on 9th June 2000; to take care of and cater for the welfare, health, well-being and future prospect of special children regardless of background, age, race and religions. PIBAKIS adopts and carries out Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (“PDK”) program as follows :-
1.Early Intervention Program (EIP) for special children below 7 years old
· To stimulate child’s development and provide pre-academic session.
2.Day Training Program (DTP) for special children above 7 years old
· To teach living skills and provide vocational / educational training.
3.Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy
· To carry out physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
4.Others
· To organize social and outdoor activities such as swimming, bowling, badminton, bocce, etc.
TOWARDS A CARING SOCIETY
Presently there are more than 200 special children registered with PIBAKIS. There are 22 full time trained & experienced staffs with 2 full time & many part-time volunteers to assist the daily activities.
PROPOSED PIBAKIS CENTRE
PIBAKIS is thankful to Sarawak State Government granted a piece of land containing an area of 1 acre, more or less, known as Lot 3354 Block 3 Miri Concession Land District at Lutong, Miri to PIBAKIS on 28/09/2009 for the construction of PIBAKIS Centre nearby SMK Lutong, Miri.
Building Committee was formed in 2010 under the Chairmanship of a prominent and public philanthropist businessman, Dato Hii King Chiong.
Ar. John Lau Ngee Tack, Ir. Stanley Y.J. Wong and Mr. Chong Jiew Phin have offered themselves as Architect, Structural Engineer and Civil Engineer respectively for the project.
The construction of the proposed 1 unit of 2-storey detached PIBAKIS Centre costing RM5 million with a total built-up area of about 21,000 square feet consists of multi-purpose hall, classrooms, physiotherapy centre, conference room, library, office, etc., and a shortfall stands at RM3.5 million.

PIBAKIS is seeking continual generous support from corporate bodies, associations, charity organizations & public toward the construction of PIBAKIS Centre.
:: 美里特殊儿中心简介::
本中心是一间社会关怀机构，特为来自不同年龄、信仰、种族、性别提供高素质的辅导和物理治疗。本中心是一间非盈利团体成立于09-06-2000。
（一）早期介入(EIP)：年龄七岁以下
·注重于启发儿童全面身心发展，让儿童学习体育活动、手艺、思考、语言，过群体生活及处理日常琐事。此外，特殊儿也被鼓励进入幼儿园或托儿所与正常儿童过群体生活。
（二）日常训练课程(DTP)：年龄七岁以上
·注重于生活技能，例如：料理日常生活、灌输常识、适应群体生活、学习手艺等。
（三）物理治疗
·让家长携带特殊儿前往中心进行物理治疗。包括：脑性麻痹、唐氏综合症、思维迟疑、发育缓慢和聋哑等。
（四）其他活动
·群体或户外运动：提供社交、手工技能、休闲活动、参加特殊奥运等。
向关怀社会前进
目前本中心共有200多名各种族的特殊儿，以及22位全职的辅导师进行物理治疗和辅导。另外还有2位全职义工和多位社会热心人士义务协助中心的日常活动。
新中心综合大楼
本中心感谢砂州政府于28/09/2009拨出一块约一依甲之土地，Lot 3354 Block 3 Miri Concession Land District位于罗东政府中学隔壁充当建造综合大楼。
建筑委员会成立于2010年。委员会主席是由本地慈善企业家拿督许庆璋先生担任。
建筑蓝图由Ar. John Lau Ngee Tack（绘测师）， Ir. Stanley Y.J. Wong（建筑工程师）与 Mr. Chong Jiew Phin （土木工程师）协助策划。
本中心建议中的一所双层综合大楼的面积大约21,000平方尺，设备包括：综合礼堂、会议室、物理治疗室、办公室、课室等等。预计建筑费为五百万令吉，目前尚缺三百五十万令吉建筑费。

本中心希望商家、团体及社会热心人士的慷慨资助和支持建造这所综合大楼，以让特殊儿拥有一个舒适的教育与训练的环境。
